If you’d like to donate to help our efforts, it is greatly appreciated.
All cash/venmo/online donations will be published in a weekly ledger, dating receipts; yet keeping donor identities anonymous. We want to keep it transparent what we’re doing with those dollars, so all of that will be published here as we go.
If you want to earmark it for specific projects, please do.
Otherwise, it goes into the general fund. The general fund covers overhead such as printing costs, website/email bills, etc.
Current Projects:
Mesh Networks & TRILL Fund
We’re working on bulk purchasing mesh network hardware components, soldering them ourselves to save money, hooking them up to scavenged solar panels (donations of old solar landscape lights needed), volunteers will 3d print the housing for them, and then we will install them into little free pantries/libraries, and other public spots all over Omaha!
Community Fridge/Freezer Fund
We have received a donation of a few commercial freezers, and we are currently scouting a good, secure, public space to install them. We want to start in the Benson area. Business/homeowners reach out! We will need to weatherproof it, so we’re going to build out a shelter for it, which will also include the solar powered mesh nodes! After we get our first one in, we hope to use it as proof of concept, to run with this adaptation throughout the city.
Please help Samaher get her children back to school! We owe it to all Palestinians to help them survive what our tax money has done to them. We will never be able to pay off the karmic debt of genocide, but it is our duty to help Gaza in any way that we can.
Unfortunately, the website’s platform doesn’t allow debit cards, only credit cards. If you don’t have one, Venmo a friend to send it for you - and encourage them to match your donation!!
Omaha has been helping Samaher survive the genocide for the past couple years. Let us continue to show up for our sister in the struggle.
